In West Linn, we do not include any charges in Ordinances  -  we put them in Resolutions.  That makes it so much easier to change.  We are placing a $1,000 charge for filing, as a deposit.  We will draw against this amount for services rendered.  If it starts to run low, we require an additional amount.  Should we complete all work and monies are left over, we refund.  Both passed unanimously last night.

Are those of you who are charging a fee including that in your ordinance or doing a separate resolution?  Stanfield will vote on the ordinance next Tuesday at our regular meeting.  Our legal council suggested that any applications for conditional use permits or variances be reviewed by him before proceeding so we may have to adjust our fees for those actions as well to cover additional legal costs.

La Grande’s council unanimously adopted a variation of the LOC model ordinance last night.  We are referring all claims to the Planning Commission for a recommendation before going to council.  We are charging a $200 non-refundable fee.
